LI: To revise skills needed to read for meaning and understanding.

This week for Reading, we had to create a moon phases art.

First, we had to Read a website to inform yourself of the moon phases

Second, We had to make a copy of a template and create a Moon Phases Art Piece.

Third, Draw and label each moon phase .

Lastly, Explain how much phase makes you feel.

Summer Learning Journey

Today ls1 has been doing  the summer learning journey the task we did was wavey words kick  start we had to a word wheel about the beach then we had design a  Google drawing and add the words we put on word wheel onto the Google drawing and put them in word art then edit it and change the colour and add a background then we had to blog it. Here is my work.

 

Tatau’s

This week for inquiry we learned about tatu’s. First we had to pick a line in this Samoan song and then,we had to translate your Samoan line into English, after that we had to draw a picture about what your line says.One thing I learn is getting a tattoo is felt like a stab and a slap at the same time.I enjoy learning about tatau’s this week,  I think we should learm more things  about tatau’s because I like talking about tatau’s.I found this inquiry interesting and really fun.

Belle and Ariel

Belle and Ariel

Once upon a time, at a beautiful beach where the waves kissed the shore and the sun shone brightly, Princess Belle and Mermaid Ariel were about to reunite after many years. They had been best friends in their school days, and fate had brought them together again for a special day.

Belle and Ariel sat down on the sand and enjoyed some ice cream. Belle asked, “What is it like being a mermaid?” Ariel replied, “It’s kinda boring, all you do is swim underwater.” Belle giggled and said, “That’s cool, I want to be a mermaid.” Then Ariel asked Belle, “What is it like being a princess?” Belle told Ariel, “It’s really cool being a princess, but being a mermaid sounds much more fun.”

After finishing their ice cream, they went for a swim. Belle shivered at the cold water, but Ariel, unaffected by the temperature, transformed into a mermaid. Belle was amazed. Ariel invited Belle to hop on her back, and they swam together. “That was so cool,” said Belle, and Ariel agreed, “Yeah, it is cool.”

As the sun began to set, they packed up their things, said goodbye, and went home to sleep. They realised how special their friendship was, even after all these years. The day reminded them of the joy and magic in both their worlds, and as they headed home with smiles on their faces, they knew this was just one of many adventures they would share.

WordProblems

This week for Miss White maths group, we learned about revision number knowledge.

First, Miss White explained to us what our task was. Our task was to go on a google slide and paste our word problems to the google slide. In total there are supposed to be 27 slides. Miss White also said to work through the revision sheet. Make sure you read the problems carefully and figure out which operation problem to solve.

Next, we had to copy and paste our word problems onto the google slide. When we finished pasting our word problem onto the google slide, Miss White said to read through others and think in our head what are the answers.

Lastly, when we finished reading through all of the word problems, Miss White decided to tell us to make a copy of the google slide and work through it. It was hard and easy at the same time. I got all of them correct which was surprising because I haven’t gone through that much.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at solving the questions. I need to improve on doing hard word problems to see if I improved much.

Palm Oil

This week for Miss White’s reading group we learned how to look at two sides of an issue and form an opinion, to look at an issue and debate your opinion and palm oil.

What is palm oil? Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the fruit of the oil palm. The oil is used in food manufacturing.

First, we had to discuss in a group what palm oil is. Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the fruit of the oil palm. The oil is used in food manufacturing. For example: skittles are made out of palm oil.

Next, Miss White explained to us what we are supposed to do. We had to make a copy of the argumentation board and work through it.

Afterwards, we had to create a DLO explaining your opinion on “Should we continue to buy products with Palm Oil?”. Add some facts and pictures.

Lastly, we had to recount what you have learned on my blog.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at explaining what palm oil is. I need to improve on adding more details and facts into my DLO and google slide.

Suspenseful Beginning

In writing this week, we have been learning how to create a suspenseful beginning through imagery and dialogue.  Suspenseful means

creating a feeling of excitement and uncertainty about what will happen next.

using descriptive language to create vivid mental pictures or sensory expeniennces what you see,smell,hear,tase and feel.

 

Food Safety

This week we learned about food safety.

First we watch two video about foods safety. Food safety has 4 different way to keep them safe.There are clean , separate , cook and chill.

Next, we had to make a slide about how to keep you food nice and clean. For example: Clean is where you wash the vegetables and fruits.

I enjoyed doing this task .I did well at explaing what the 4 different type of way to keep them safe. I need to improve on adding more details into the writing.
